Literally Nobody Believes That Taylor Swift And Tom Hiddleston's 'Romance' Is Real

Taylor Swift is perhaps one of the most media-savvy stars out there at the moment, with it being a well-known fact that every one of her moves is carefully crafted and executed for the best possible response.

So it comes as no surprise that she has been dominating the headlines over the last few weeks due to her sudden romance with British actor Tom Hiddleston, but is there really no such thing as bad publicity?

Taylor split from her boyfriend of seventeen months, Calvin Harris, at the end of May and less than three weeks later she was conveniently papped being intimate with Tom on an isolated, private beach.

The source of the photos was then credited back to the same photographer who attended one of Taylor’s best friend’s weddings earlier in the year, making even the least cynical of her fans raise an eyebrow.

The timing was also pretty remarkable, with the photos being released the day before her ex was due to release a new song with Rihanna (yeah, you probably ended up not hearing about that) and just a couple of days after Kim Kardashian publicly slammed Taylor for lying about not approving Kanye West’s lyrics in ‘Famous’ (and we bet you’d forgotten all about that too).

But Taylor and Tom’s dramatic display of their love didn’t end there and within nine days of dating Taylor had jetted across the Atlantic to meet the Night Manager’s parents, and was sure to look delightfully British as she dressed in Tweed and went for a casual stroll in the English countryside.

With the paparazzi in tow, of course.

Since then Taylor and Tom’s every waking moment has been papped, with the two being ridiculed online due to their over-the-top displays of affection in images that wouldn’t look out of place from a cheesy straight-to-DVD film:

Many celebrities, including Wendy Williams and Spencer Pratt, have spoken out against the relationship, with Calvin himself reportedly dubbing the ‘showmance’ “f*cking laughable”, but they’re definitely not in the minority.

In fact, social media has been ablaze with tweets poking fun at the couple’s desperate attempt to convince us that they are the real deal, with it looking like absolutely nobody is buying it:

It is thought that Tom has embarked on the relationship in a bid to secure himself the role of James Bond, whereas Taylor has a bit of a reputation for dating other famous people for the publicity.

Still, as long as they are both getting column inches we suppose it doesn’t really matter what anybody thinks…
