Little Dessert Shop to open Chester city centre branch
A new dessert shop is set to open in Chester city centre. Little Dessert Shop has taken over the former Ladbrokes betting shop on Foregate Street.
The chain, which already has three venues in Cheshire - Crewe, Runcorn and Warrington, has just had both advertisement consent and listing building consent applications rubber-stamped by Cheshire West and Chester Council. The Foregate Street premises is Grade II listed.
Describing the brand on its website, Little Dessert Shop states: "Discover the nation’s favourite dessert brand Little Dessert Shop and embark on a journey of pure indulgence. Little Dessert Shop is an award-winning brand that has continued to innovate to become the leading trendsetter in the UK since 2015.
"Serving handcrafted artisanal waffles, crepes, coffee, cheesecakes, cookie dough and gelato combined with our unrivalled dining experience offers an experience like no other."
Recommending approval for the new Little Dessert Shop signage, case officer Isil Ertosun said: "The application seeks permission for external signage to the front and side of the property, together with a hanging sign. Amended plans were received to address the concerns raised regarding the illumination levels, positioning and sizing of the proposed signage.
"The Conservation Officer does not object to the amended proposal, subject to a condition to secure the materials used for the signage. It is considered that the proposed works would have no material effect on the significance of the building as a heritage asset."
