Little Mix may have had to cancel their 2020 tour as a result of the coronavirus pandemic but they do still have some good news to share with fans, as they've actually finished their sixth studio album.

Speaking to Metro, Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall promised that their "uplifting" new album is ready to cheer us all up following the release of their latest single 'Holiday'.

"I think 'Holiday' is a really good taster of what is to come on the album – it's really fun, uplifting, it's quite celebratory, I would say, of Little Mix and what we do best," Jade said.

"The album is actually finished, we've done all the album artwork and the video for 'Holiday' will also be dropping very soon which we can't wait for," Perrie added. "Everything is ready to go, we just can't wait to release it."

As for their tour the girls are hoping that they'll be able to go ahead with new live shows next year, with Jade admitting that they are all "gutted" not to have toured this year.

"We hope to be able to tour next year, obviously nothing is for sure because of COVID," Jesy said. "I think we have to wait and see what happens really – I think everyone's a bit unsure at the moment."

In the meantime Little Mix will be playing a Meerkat Music 'UNCancelled' virtual gig next Friday (August 21) and Leigh-Anne revealed that they "can't wait" to be singing together again at last.

"Being able to perform together again is such an amazing feeling, we've missed it so much. Even just to see each other was great," she said. "That's our favourite thing to do, we love performing so it's come at the right time."

Little Mix have also confirmed that their upcoming BBC reality show The Search, which will see them hunt for a talented musical act to be their tour support act, is still very much on the cards and will air this autumn.
