Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall shocked fans when her answers to a quick fire quiz took a turn for the X-rated, following the band’s performance at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball.

After performing hits like Touch, Power and Shout Out To My Ex to a packed crowd at the O2 Arena, Thirlwall and bandmates Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards headed backstage, where hosts Ronan Kemp and Vick Hope invited the group to take part in a quick fire trivia challenge.

Kemp asked the singers to compete against Hope to see who could answer a string of simple questions in the shortest amount of time.

“I’m going to give you a category and a letter and you just have to be the first to answer,” he explained.

The band managed to name “a celebrity beginning with M” and “a boy’s name beginning with the letter B” with ease, but when Kemp asked them for “a body part beginning with the letter D,” Thirlwall immediately answered with “d***.”

Realising that she’d made a faux pas, Thirlwall looked embarrassed before bursting into laughter with her bandmates.

Fans were quick to respond to the gaffe on social media, lending their support to the singer with an array of positive comments and describing her response as “hilarious.”

“I mean, I probably would have said the same thing,” wrote one fan on Twitter, with another asking: “What else is a body part beginning with the letter D then?”

“Jade is my spirit animal,” another added.

Others praised the singer for her competitive spirit, with one viewer writing: “She wanted to win so bad.”

The girls performed at the annual two-day bash alongside Cheryl, Jess Glynne and Liam Payne.
