Little Mix Defend Their ‘Get Weird’ Tour Outfits

Little Mix officially kicked off their brilliant ‘Get Weird’ tour on Sunday, but for some people, the focus seems to be on questioning whether the girls’ tour outfits are ‘too raunchy’.

Things haven’t changed much in 2016, huh?

Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson have been killing it on stage on this tour, looking gorgeous in sparkly leotards, beautiful dresses and a whole range of other outfits.

With some people suggesting that some of their outfits might be ‘too raunchy’ for their young fans, the girls have defended their choices, explaining that they just go for things they’re comfortable in.

Perrie told The Mirror: “We wear what we feel comfortable in. We’re not overly sexy in what we do anyway. We go for sexy/cute. We’d never want to be scandalous.

“I think we’ve got the right kind of balance. Some of us are 24. We aren’t going to be able to wear stuff like this for the rest of our life, and parade around in little dresses and stuff, but at the same time, we are just girls.”

Leigh-Anne added that they wouldn’t wear anything they weren’t comfortable in, explaining: “It’s not about being overly sexy, but it’s showing off your assets that you want to show off and if you feel confident in it, then boom.”

There’s a practicality to their outfits too, as the girls put on a huge show with a LOT of dancing.

Perrie said: “I like to feel free and have something I can move around in. Something pretty with lots of stretch in it.”

With all this discussion over their outfits, and the recent hoo-ha surrounding Kim Kardashian’s latest naked selfie, Perrie is keen to encourage other girls to celebrate each other and just feel comfortable in themselves, whatever they choose to wear.

She explained: “The way I see it, when I see Leigh-Anne in a bikini on holiday, I don’t think, ‘Oh God, Leigh-Anne, put it away’. I look at her and think, ‘Yes girl, you’ve got one of the most insane figures I’ve ever seen. You f**king rock that on the beach, because I would’.

“Girls should be like that. We need to encourage each other and if you don’t want to have your body out then you don’t have to.

“I never used to want to get my figure out, but now I’m like, ‘Yes, here it is’.”
