Yahoo News Little Mix's BBC reality competition The Search postponed by pandemic
Little Mix have been forced to postpone their BBC reality competition The Search due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The show was set to begin airing later this month, with a spot as the supporting act on the band's UK summer tour up for grabs.
However, in a statement, the BBC has confirmed that the show has now been delayed.
"In light of the spread of Covid-19, after much consideration, it has been decided that Little Mix The Search will be postponed until further notice," the statement read (via The Mirror).
"We will continue to follow the latest news and advice from the World Health Organisation and public health organisations."
Last week, the band released new single 'Break Up Song'. However, the pandemic caused them to cancel a planned music video shoot in Brazil, and they may also have to delay their sixth album too.
"With the single, we didn't want to push it back because we just wanted the world to hear it," Perrie Edwards said.
"That's why we've released it now, because we love it so much and I feel like it's such a good, upbeat, positive, uplifting song and that's just what people need right now. But with the album, I think we are going to have to postpone it, yeah."
