Little Mix singer Jade Thirlwall has revealed that she faked a back injury during a music video shoot in order to help her bandmates Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock keep their pregnancies a secret.

Leigh-Anne revealed that she is expecting her first child with footballer fiancé Andre Gray at the beginning of May, while Perrie announced less than a week later that she and her own footballer partner Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are expecting a baby.

Speaking during a TikTok interview, it was revealed that Jade was so keen to help her friends keep their pregnancies under wraps in the early days that she pretended to have her own symptoms while shooting the video for their latest single 'Confetti' in order to deflect attention from them.

"We were in rehearsals at the time," Perrie said. "Me and Leigh-Anne were pregnant at the time and so out of breath, but we didn't want anybody to know, like choreographers and things.

"We didn't want anyone in the room to know so Jade was going 'Oh, my back' and she was joining in! Leigh-Anne was going 'My back hurts' and Jade would go, 'Oh, my back, I know, my back is gone!'"

Jade joked: "Any excuse for me to sit out for five minutes! I was just like, 'Yeah, me too!'"

"We were all in it together!" Perrie added.

Little Mix also spoke about how they found out about the double pregnancy news, with Perrie revealing that she had panicked during a Zoom meeting about not being able to fulfil commitments planned in for the next two years.

After calling the group's manager Samantha Cox, not only did Samantha reveal that she was also pregnant, but she then added Leigh-Anne to the call – who revealed her own baby news by saying: "Perrie? You too?"

As for Jade, Perrie revealed that she had cried at the moment that Perrie and Leigh-Anne shared their baby news with her, with Jade confirming that she felt "very overwhelmed" by the news.

Former Little Mix member Jesy Nelson, who quit the band in December 2020, is also celebrating good news at the moment as she has just signed a solo record deal.

"This is such a pinch me moment," she said. "I cannot wait for you guys to hear what I've been working on."
