When is Little Mix: The Search on TV?

With the coronavirus pandemic pushing the show from its initial slot in April 2020, Little Mix: The Search will now arrive on UK screens on Saturday, September 26.

The first episode will screen on BBC One at 7pm, and will also be available on BBC iPlayer.

Filming reportedly began in January 2020.

What is Little Mix: The Search about?

The series will follow the Little Mix members - Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson and Perrie Edwards - as they mentor young singers and aim to form a group by the end of the series.

The initial plan was to bring the winning group on Little Mix’s 2020 world tour, which was called off due to the pandemic.

Stand-up comedian Chris Ramsey was announced as the host of the show in March.

Thirlwall recently revealed lockdown had made the process trickier, with groups struggling to “gel” virtually.

She told Metro: "It's been really interesting, because we've had to learn to do that ourselves, in terms of getting along and seeing the bigger picture, it's making groups and seeing the energy.

"It's quite hard getting the groups to gel."

She continued: "We're not naive enough to think that's going to happen with another group we put together, we really need to get it right and look out for them and help them all."

Nelson also recently revealed they ensured contestants got aftercare support during the show.

She told Radio Times that their experiences on The X Factor helped to shape the support process.

“I just remember being taken into a room and being given our schedule for the next year and we were like, ‘Sorry, what?’” Nelson said.

“It was like your life was taken away. Not that we are complaining about that, but you do get thrown into it without a second to think about anything, which can be a lot to deal with.

“Our aftercare for these contestants is so important to us because we didn’t really get that.

“We never had anyone checking on us to see how we were doing mentally, it was all just go, go, go. I personally don’t feel like there was anyone who cared.”

Is there a trailer?

There is! The trailer builds hype by showing the four stars teaming up to tackle the challenge of forming a new supergroup.

The trailer indicates that the search will include a range of genres, and will not be confined by gender.

Little Mix: The Search begins at 7pm on Saturday, September 26 on BBC One.
