Fire crews fought a blaze in Stapleford tonight (Monday). The incident was reported by Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service at 8pm, with crews leaving the scene at 10pm.

The fire was on Manor Avenue, which was closed in both directions while emergency responders were on the scene. The fire service reassured the public that no one was at risk.

Stapleford Fire Station said at 10pm: "Fire service have now left the scene and the fire is now out. Some properties remain without power while engineers from Western Power are making electric cables safe and working to restore power as quickly as possible.

"Police are also on scene. Fire service updates will continue tomorrow morning (Tuesday)
