Live updates: Walz’s stirring speech closes Day 3 of DNC
Vice President Harris’s running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), was the center of attention on the third night of the DNC.
Walz spoke in his first major national address to accept the vice presidential nomination, a day after former President Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama electrified the crowd at the United Center in Chicago.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries kicked off the prime-time portion of the DNC’s third night, followed by former President Bill Clinton. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Maryland Gov. Wes Moore also addressed the convention.
Oprah Winfrey made a previously unannounced appearance, endorsing the Harris-Walz ticket.
