All Liverpool drivers hit with one-day warning
Drivers in Liverpool and beyond have been hit with a warning as the weather is set to take a turn for the worse one day this week. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the city and other parts of the UK this weekend, as thunderstorms could batter the northwest and further afield.
A yellow weather warning is in place on Saturday, September 21, for Liverpool and other areas, including Wirral and parts of Cheshire. The thunderstorm warning runs from 1am on Saturday through to 11.59pm.
The potentially hazardous conditions that are forecast have prompted the AA to issue an alert to all motorists. Its experts have said that where heavy downpours occur spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

Chris Wood, AA Patrol of the Year, told the ECHO: “Driving conditions could change rapidly with very little warning and catch out weekend travellers who are less regularly exposed to bad weather driving conditions. Should you get caught in these conditions, The AA is advising motorists to reduce speed and leave more space between themselves and other vehicles.
“If you need assistance, it’s quicker to report an incident to us via our app or online than it is to call, although we are always ready to help you whichever way. And, please remember that it could take longer to reach you in these conditions.”
