Liverpool have ‘entered into negotiations’ with Ligue 1 side Nice over a potential transfer for midfielder Khephren Thuram, according to TuttoJuve. Other Premier League clubs are said to be interested, but it is suggested that the Reds are at the head of the queue.

Thuram is the younger brother of Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram who has previously been linked with a move to Anfield. The younger brother is said to be valued at around €30 million (£25.5m) by Nice.

Elsewhere, Liverpool are one of two clubs to be credited with an interest in Lyon midfielder Rayan Cherki. The 20-year-old played 33 times in Ligue 1 in the season just gone, scoring once and providing six assists.

According to French outlet Sports Zone, both the Reds and Tottenham have asked Lyon for information on the player and are the two clubs who are showing the most interest, although French giants Paris Saint Germain are also mentioned.

Cherki has just one year remaining on his contract with Lyon, meaning that he could be available at a reduced price. The report also says that the player ‘wants to leave’ the club this summer.
