Liverpool fan killed in Italy
A life-long Liverpool FC fan died after he was hit by a vehicle in Italy this morning. Philip Joseph Dooley, 51, from Liverpool, has been named as the man who died after he was struck on a road in Bergamo, an Italian city north east of Milan.
The incident is believed to have happened this morning (Tuesday, September 17). Philip had travelled to Italy, along with thousands of Liverpool FC fans to be at the club's Champions League game against AC Milan in the San Siro tonight.
Merseyside Police have informed Philip's next of kin in Merseyside. They have said they are assisting authorities in Italy following the incident.

Two men who witnessed the incident are also assisting the investigation, which is being carried out by Italian police.
