Liverpool FC legend Steven Gerrard sends heartfelt message after special family update

Steven Gerrard has sent a heartfelt message to his wife as they marked a special family occasion. The Liverpool FC legend has been married to Alex Gerrard since 2007.

The two are the proud parents of Lilly, Lexie, Lourdes, and Lio. Gerrard regularly shares updates from his happy family life with his 11.7m Instagram followers.

He has taken to the social media platform today to wish Alex a happy birthday as she turned 42. He shared snaps of his wife alongside the caption: "Happy birthday baby. Have a special day like you are to us."

Their eldest daughter Lillly also sent a heartfelt message to mark the special family day. She shared on Instagram: "Happy birthday to my beautiful mum and best friend."

In posts shared with her 206,000 Instagram followers, she added: "Hope you have a special day. Love you so much. Life of the party always."

Lexie has also built up a large following on social media and she also issued a special message to mark the occasion. She told her 62,000 Instagram followers: Happy birthday to my fabulous mum. Hope you have the best day. Love you so so much."

Gerrard is currently the manager of Saudi Arabian team Al-Ettifaq. The family are currently based in Bahrain and are said to reside in a luxurious villa in the Hamala village.

Their home, which costs about £10,000 per month, boasts a swimming pool and games room, and is situated near members of the Bahraini Royal family. Despite Gerrard dividing his time between two countries, the couple still find ways to enjoy family life.

They hold memberships at the exclusive Four Seasons, which features the Cut restaurant by Michelin star chef Wolfgang Puck, and the Ritz Carlton, where Premier League games are shown in an open-air bar.

Gerrard spoke about his family's adjustment to their new life after he penned a fresh contract in January, as he said: "The renewal decision brought a lot of positive feelings for me and my family, as it was the culmination of the hard work and true dedication that everyone showed from day one.

"From the beginning, we realised the size of the responsibility and the number of challenges that awaited us, which prompted us to invest in creating new infrastructure, such as new training facilities and building a new stadium. "We have achieved remarkable progress in these projects, as a result of the mutual trust between me and the club management."
