Liverpool FC's Cody Gakpo sends message as girlfriend issues family update

Cody Gakpo sent a message to his girlfriend as she was spotted at a Liverpool game. The Dutchman has impressed so far this season in a left-wing position and cancelled out Brighton’s equaliser at the weekend as the reds secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory.

Away from the pitch, Cody’s girlfriend is Noa van der Bij, who gave birth to their son earlier this year, named Samuël Seth Gakpo. Noa works for a modelling agency and regularly shares updates on her personal life to her 44,000 Instagram followers.

Last week, she shared a series of pictures showing what she’s been up to recently. Noa has been busy with her baby and took him to the Emirates Stadium last month where the reds drew 2-2 with Arsenal.

The pair were watching on from the stands as Cody played in the games. She was joined by Estelle Bergkamp and her daughter Lomee. Estelle’s partner is former Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek, while her dad is Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp.

Noa later took Samuël into the tunnel, where a delighted Cody was pictured holding his son aloft. Noa captioned the post with emojis of a hot drink, a brown live heart, a stadium and autumn leaves. The post received thousands of likes. Cody showed his delight at the pictures by commenting with two love heart emojis.

Reacting to the update, one person said: "Love it." Another added: "Lovers." Scouse model Saffie Khan was among those who liked the post. She is Curtis Jones’ partner and the midfielder recently revealed the two couples were very close.

Curtis, speaking before the birth of his daughter Giselle, said: “(Me and Cody) are really tight, so I spend time with him. His girlfriend and mine always talk as well. Obviously he's got a kid already, so she's helping her out with certain things. He's my brother.”
