Arne Slot will be eager to return to winning ways as soon as possible following Liverpool's defeat to Nottingham Forest. Steve Cooper's side defeated the Reds at Anfield on Saturday afternoon thanks to a brilliant strike from Callum Hudson-Odoi.

With Manchester City easing past Brentford at the Etihad Stadium to extend their perfect start to the Premier League campaign, Liverpool have been dealt a blow to their title chances. The season is, of course, still in its infancy, and everything is still to play for, but Slot's side could soon rue dropping points on home turf.

The Reds may be disappointed with the result, but they must now turn their attention to a huge tie in the Champions League. So, with that being said, the ECHO have looked at Liverpool's next five fixtures.

Milan (A) – Champions League – September 17

Not only is this a huge fixture for the history books, but it's also paramount that Liverpool return to winning ways as soon as possible. The Reds have a great opportunity to rebuild some momentum.

Bournemouth (H) – Premier League – September 21

Regardless of whether Liverpool win at the San Siro during the week, Slot will need the home faithful to fire up his players next week. The Cherries are no walkover, so the Reds will have to improve their performance if they wish to walk away victorious.

West Ham (H) – Carabao Cup – September 25

While this could offer the likes of Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold some much-needed respite, Slot will be eager to get his hands on some silverware in his debut season at Liverpool. Another game on home turf will certainly give the Reds a nice boost.

Wolves (A) – Premier League – September 28

There's a lot of football to be played this month, so rotation will be key. With Liverpool hoping to rival Manchester City and Arsenal for the Premier League title, every game is a must-win.

Bologna (H) – Champions League – October 2

Slot will certainly be looking forward to this one. Under Jurgen Klopp, Anfield was an absolute fortress on a European night. Bologna are an exciting side, but Juventus appointed Thiago Motta, who orchestrated their incredible qualification campaign, as head coach in the summer.
