Gabby Agbonlahor is not worried about recent transfer speculation linking Liverpool with an interest in Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins.

The Sun claims new Liverpool manager Arne Slot wants the 28-year-old to replace Darwin Nunez ahead of his first campaign at Anfield. However, Villa hero Agbonlahor insists his old club wouldn't even sell Watkins for £100m this summer.

Watkins enjoyed a sensational season for Villa last term, scoring 19 goals in the Premier League and recording 13 assists, enough for him to win the playmaker of the season award. His goals played a key role in Villa's successful campaign as Unai Emery's side finished fourth to claim Champions League qualification.

"Not worried one bit," Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT when asked about Liverpool's reported interest in Watkins. "You're going to hear these rumours because of how well he's done.

"He's 'Mr Reliable' and his injury record is outstanding. He doesn't get injured. He gets out there, no matter what. 19 Premier League goals last season... outstanding. No penalties. His finishing has got so clinical.

"In October, he signed a five-year deal until 2028. Aston Villa have to sell. But I would rather sell shares than give Watkins to anyone.

"He's going to cost you £100m - and I don't think they would sell him for £100m. Aston Villa are building. Unai Emery just signed a five-year contract."
