Liverpool are already being linked with several potential new signings ahead of the summer transfer window opening.

The transfer window does not officially open until June 14, but the Reds could still agree on deals in the meantime. And if the latest pieces of speculation that are doing the rounds are anything to go by, then it looks likely to be a busy few months at Anfield.

According to Italian news outlet Calciomercato, Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz is a target for the Reds. The report claims that Juventus are interested in signing Luiz but may face competition from English clubs, including Liverpool.

It has been stated that Liverpool have identified Luiz as a target this summer, as have Arsenal and Manchester United. The report claims that, if the Reds want to sign the midfielder, then they would need to meet Villa's asking price of €90 million (£76.6 million) for Premier League clubs, with the fee supposedly €70 million (£60 million) for clubs outside England.

Elsewhere, Liverpool continue to be linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon defender Goncalo Inacio, with Portuguese news outlet Jornal de Noticias, saying that player is 'closest' to leaving the Liga Portugal club this summer.

The report adds that Liverpool are joined by Man United and Arsenal in showing an interest in signing the centre-back. Recent reports have speculated that Inacio has a release clause in his contract at Sporting worth €60 million (£51 million).
