Liverpool are yet to reach any agreements for potential new signings for the summer transfer window.

Arne Slot has officially started his role as Liverpool's new head coach, replacing Jurgen Klopp in the Anfield dugout. Slot will be busy assessing his squad during pre-season over the next few weeks and months ahead of the new Premier League season which begins in August.

The transfer window opens later this month and already Liverpool are being credited with an interest in several possible new players. The latest reports claim that the Reds are interested in signing two new midfielders.

According to Spanish news outlet AS, Liverpool have joined the race to sign Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. The report claims that the Reds are joined by Manchester City and Arsenal in showing an interest in signing the Brazilian.

It has been stated that Newcastle may be forced to sell some of their star players due to missing out on European football. Man City have been mentioned in the report as having a long-standing interest in Guimaraes, with Liverpool now said to have joined the race.

Elsewhere, Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz. According to Italian news outlet Caiciomercato, Juventus have also joined the race to sign Luiz after he helped Villa qualify for the Champions League.

The report states that Juventus will face competition from Liverpool in the race to sign Luiz, with Arsenal and Man United also apparently interested. It has been stated that Villa have put a £60 million asking price on Luiz's signature for clubs outside England, but that figure would increase to between £72 million and £77 million if Liverpool or any Premier League club were to show an interest in the midfielder.
