Liverpool leave Gary Neville red-faced after ambitious Manchester United prediction
Gary Neville appears to have already got his top-four Premier League prediction wrong after just six games of the new season. The Manchester United legend previewed the campaign with Jamie Carragher back in August on Monday Night Football.
It has become a tradition for the pair to give their predictions for the months ahead. Carragher put Manchester City top, followed by Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham.
Neville meanwhile, put Arsenal top, with City, United and Chelsea rounding out his top four. He said: "I’ve gone for Arsenal. Like I did last year as well. Thinking they're going to go that one step further and they're getting closer every time. This could be their year.

"Manchester City second, Manchester United third, although I say that with a laugh, Tottenham fourth. I mean Manchester United the season before had a good season. The last one was a disaster. I do think they'll improve enormously. I hope Tottenham finish fourth, I think they play great football.
United, who Neville predicted to finish third, have had a disappointing start to the campaign and sit 12th after their 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham. As for Liverpool, Neville left Arne Slot's team out of his top four and suggested the Dutch boss faces a tough job after taking over from Jurgen Klopp.
"My view would be that the impacts of Klopp will take its toll just going off evidence of history, that's it," Neville explained. "Evidence of history of a manager like that leaving at some point, I think there'll be some pain this season for Liverpool, and it could cost them."
However, the Reds have cruised past City and Arsenal into top spot following their 2-1 win over Wolves at the weekend. Pep Guardiola's side were held to a 1-1 draw to Newcastle United while Arsenal sealed a dramatic 4-2 home win over Leicester City.
As it stands, Liverpool are one point clear of City in second and Arsenal in third. Their focus will turn to the Champions League with Bologna set to make the trip to Anfield on Wednesday.
