Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler's incredible net worth, huge property empire, £85m star comparison
Robbie Fowler reportedly has a higher net worth than Darwin Nunez, thanks to former Liverpool manager Graeme Souness. The legendary Reds striker made millions away from the pitch during his playing career and has continued to do so since retiring in 2012.
Fowler, 49, made the Sunday Times Rich List in 2005, the same year The Observer dubbed him "the richest sportsman living in Britain", and then again in 2009. During the latter, he only ranked behind David Beckham, Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney in The Guardian's football rich list.
However, Fowler has Souness to thank. As he told the Mirror in 2015, it all came about almost accidentally while still a teenager after coming through the Liverpool academy.

Fowler recalls going into his then-manager Souness' office and being told: “This is a financial adviser; he will look after you for the rest of your life.” He called it "by far the smartest thing I did".
"As a young kid, I wasn’t really interested at that stage - getting financial advice was far from my mind. I was focused on playing football. But I got on board with this financial adviser, and I heeded his advice, and that was my smartest money decision.
"I would have been 18, probably. Don’t get me wrong, not everything went into property, at the time. And I didn’t just invest on my own, because when I was 18, I was on next to nothing, and I couldn’t afford it, regardless of what people think about football players.
"I invested with partners. It was all through the advice I was given, not because I knew anything or wanted to know it; it was totally by accident."
That led to building up a property portfolio during his playing career. "A mix of apartments, small family houses and larger properties," Fowler explained.
"I’ve got some in Liverpool and some overseas." Some were also elsewhere in the North West, with Manchester City fans coining the chant "We all live in a Robbie Fowler home" to the tune of The Beatles' Yellow Submarine.
However, during an interview with The Guardian earlier that year, he downplayed the scale of his property portfolio despite appreciating the chant. "Let’s say I have more than ten but less than 100."
“Most players are good at being very selective about what they hear. But I thought it was a good one. It did make me chuckle.”
Those investments have also put a smile on his face over the years. Celebrity Net Worth estimates Fowler has an £38million net worth, which outweighs Nunez (£31m) and is over double that of Diogo Jota (£14m).
