Liverpool Lime Street delays after person hit by train

A person has been hit by a train causing delays to a Liverpool Lime Street service. An update from Northern Rail states: "Trains are returning to normal following a person hit by a train between Stafford and Lichfield Trent Valley. As service recovers, trains between Stafford and Rugby may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised until approximately 14.15"

The routes affected are Avanti West Coast between Edinburgh / Glasgow Central / Blackpool North / / Manchester Piccadilly / Holyhead / Chester and London Euston. The Liverpool ECHO has contacted British Transport Police for an update on the person's condition.
