Liverpool 'monitoring' La Liga defender amid Trent Alexander-Arnold contract uncertainty
Liverpool are reportedly putting a plan in place in the event that Trent Alexander-Arnold leaves the club. The future of the Reds vice-captain has been the subject of intense speculation in recent months with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
Alexander-Arnold is not the only player out of contract in less than 12 months time. Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah also have their current deals expiring in 2025, and it remains to be seen if any of the trio will put pen to paper on extensions in the weeks or months ahead.
From January, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk and Salah will be able to negotiate pre-contract deals with clubs outside England if they do not sign new deals. It seems that Liverpool may be preparing for the eventuality that Alexander-Arnold leaves Anfield next summer.

According to Caught Offside, Liverpool are expressing an interest in Sevilla star Juanlu Sanchez. The report claims that the Reds are "monitoring" the right-back but will face competition from Arsenal and West Ham for his signature.
Sanchez's contract is set to expire in 2026, and the report suggests that Sevilla may already have a price tag in mind to part ways with the defender next summer. It has been claimed that Sanchez is currently valued at €25 million (£21 million) by the La Liga club.
Recent weeks have also seen Manchester United linked with a move for Sanchez. The 21-year-old starred for Spain at the Olympics in Paris where he helped his country win the gold medal back in August.
This season has seen Sanchez score one goal in his five appearances in La Liga. However, rather than play at right-back, Sevilla manager García Pimienta has utilised Sanchez in a midfield role.
