Liverpool made it two wins from two in the Champions League on Wednesday night as they beat Bologna 2-0 at Anfield. Alexis Mac Allister put the Reds ahead in the first half, before Mohamed Salah added a second in the 75th minute to earn them three more vital points.

Arne Slot's side were not at their best and were fortunate not to concede at least one as Bologna created plenty of opportunities, but Liverpool's quality and experience shone through in the end. After strolling past AC Milan 3-1 in their Champions League opener, they now have six points from a possible six.

With the Reds sitting in a comfortable position, in the new league phase of the competition, the Liverpool ECHO has taken a closer look at how their next fixtures compare with those likely to be challenging for the trophy come the end of the season and you can find out more below;

RB Leipzig (A) - October 23

Bayer Leverkusen (H) - November 5

Real Madrid (H) - November 27

Girona (A) - December 10

Lille (H) - January 21

The ECHO's verdict: It's a cliche to suggest there are no easy games in the Champions League, but it's fair to say that the next three are particularly tough for Arne Slot's men. Of course, the home clash with Real Madrid stands out as a huge encounter, but the return of Xabi Alonso to Anfield, with his reigning Bundesliga champions, and a tricky trip to RB Leipzig will test the Reds. If they come through that unscathed, you would hope the clashes with Girona and Lille represent more straightforward opportunities for success, but they cannot be underestimated.
