Liverpool restaurants named the most romantic venues in the country
Online booking system OpenTable has unveiled its 100 most romantic restaurants across the country. The annual compilation highlights the top spots for date night in the lead up to Valentine's Day.
Two Merseyside restaurants made the list - Hawksmoor and Wreck, which are both located in the city centre. Hawksmoor is a British steak restaurant while Wreck, previously known as Wreckfish, offers guests a classic bistro food menu.
Hawksmoor exists within the Grade-II listed India Buildings on the corner of Brunswick Street and Fenwick Street. The 150-capacity restaurant opened in 2022 with a private dining space and bar, featuring an art deco style and interiors emphasising the building's structure.

The chain is known for their steaks from traditionally-reared British cattle and sustainably sourced seafood. You can take a look inside the restaurant with our photo gallery here.
Wreck, located on Slater Street, is owned by popular chef Gary Usher, who crowdfunded more than £200,000 to open the restaurant in 2017. The venue is one of nine Merseyside restaurants to find their way into the Good Food Guide, having previously been praised for its high quality menu and ingredients.
Wreck offers guests a range of menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including a three course bistro menu for £20. You can read the ECHO's review of Wreck here.
