Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai have both dropped early team news hints ahead of Liverpool's clash against Wolves. Gary O'Neil's team will lock horns with the Reds at Molineux on Saturday afternoon as they both look to climb up the Premier League table.

Liverpool head into that 5.30pm match off the back of a 5-1 win over West Ham in the Carabao Cup third round on Wednesday night. Since suffering their first defeat of the season to Nottingham Forest at Anfield earlier this month, Arne Slot's side have responded brilliantly - winning their last three games.

As for Wolves, meanwhile, they'll be looking to return to winning ways after losing 3-1 to Aston Villa in English top-flight last weekend. Nevertheless, Mac Allister and Szoboszlai have both posted pre-match graphic previews of the fixture to their Instagram stories - hinting they are set to play.

Historically, that indicates that the duo will be involved, in some capacity. One player who, controversially, might not start against Wolves, though, is Gakpo, who was brought in midweek to give Luis Diaz some rest.

The Colombia international has started each of Liverpool's first five matches of this season. Speaking to reporters ahead of the match, Slot explained the dilemma he faces when picking his perfect front-line.

"For me, it says two things," said the Reds manager. "It says, one, these players have a lot of quality and, second of all, it says the team is always creating chances for the players we are selecting for that game.

"If we play Cody [Gakpo] or if we play Lucho [Luis Diaz], the team's creating the chances for these individuals and because they have so much quality they can promote this to assists or goals. That's what it says to me."

Then, on whether anything has 'changed' with Diaz after a strong start to the season, Slot said: "That's difficult for me to judge because I wasn't here, of course, last season. It's still a small sample size that we are talking about.

"I said before also when it comes to us winning quite a lot of games that, until now, we've faced almost all teams [that] are in the bottom [half] of the table. Of course we expect [Manchester] United to be on the top of the table in the end, maybe not on top, but in the top of the table, so there's still a lot for us to prove.

"Maybe the fixture list helped us by this amount of goals the forwards scored. Let's see if we can keep scoring so many goals if the fixture list is getting harder and harder, starting in a difficult away game against Wolves."

With that being said, Slot will be relying on the likes of Gakpo and Diaz to step up and fire Liverpool to a victory. While a few players will likely post pre-match previews of the Wolves game to their Instagram stories before kick-off, it does not necessarily mean they will definitely start.
