Transfer deadline day is here, which means clubs face a race against time to get last-minute transfer deals over the line. Clubs have until 11pm tonight (Friday) to complete deals.

It has been a relatively quiet window for Liverpool, although they have brought two players to the club over the last few days. The signing of goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who has gone back to former club Valencia on loan, was quickly followed by the arrival of Federico Chiesa from Juventus.

For Liverpool, deadline day could see concentration on outgoings. Joe Gomez is among the players to be linked with an exit after being left out of the squad for the opening day win over Ipswich Town.

Stefan Bajcetic, Kaide Gordon and Ben Doak are all the subject of loan moves away from Anfield. Red Bull Salzburg are looking the likely destination for Bajcetic.

Players who are looking for an exit from Anfield have just a few hours to complete a move if they wish to stay in most of Europe’s top leagues. But there is a way that Liverpool could still complete moves even after the 11pm deadline.

That’s due to leagues in other countries having other deadlines. There’s four specific ones that Liverpool could use over the next few days and weeks.

Firstly, the Saudi Pro League’s deadline is Monday (September 2). It means that clubs in Saudi Arabia have an extra three days to complete their business.

The same date applies for clubs that play in Portugal and the Netherlands. Clubs in Turkey have longer until their deadline, with their transfer window open for another two weeks.

The window remaining open in these countries means that while Liverpool will not be able to sign any new players (unless they are free transfers), players will be able to still move away to these leagues. Clubs like Ajax, Galatasaray, or Sporting CP could be potential destinations for players wanting out.
