Liverpool summer signing vows to 'give everything' after 'very difficult' start
Liverpool summer signing Giorgi Mamardashvili says he is "convinced" loan club Valencia can avoid relegation this term and insists to will "give everything" to help turn the team's fortunes around.
Mamardashvili signed for the Reds from Valencia in a deal worth up £29million last month however it was agreed he would remain in Spain this season before officially moving to Anfield ahead of the 2024/25 campaign. The Georgian caught the eye at this summer's European Championship and is widely regarded as one of the most promising young goalkeepers in world football.
However, he has endured a difficult start to the season with Valencia, who currently sit bottom of the La Liga table having picked up just one point from their first six games. Rubén Baraja's side are yet to keep a clean sheet this term and have conceded ten goals but Mamardashvili is confident the team have what it takes to start climbing the table.

Speaking this week to Super Deporte, the goalkeeper said: “Valencia, this city and this club have changed my life and I want to give everything I can this year. Valencia has been key in my career, it has helped me a lot these past three years, they have been incredible and I want to say thank you.”
Asked if Valencia can turn things around in the next few matches, Mamardashvili added: “Yes, of course. We have to recover everything and I am convinced that we are going to win. Of course we have to change the dynamic because the five games have been very difficult."
While Mamardashvili has already got a big move in the bag for next summer, the Georgian will hope Valencia's form begins to improve soon so that he is able to prove to Arne Slot he is capable of being Liverpool's long-term No.1. Alisson Becker remains under contract at Anfield until 2027 - a contract he says he is keen to honour - while second choice shot-stopper Caoimhin Kelleher was linked with a deadline day move to Nottingham Forest.
While a transfer ultimately did not materialise, Kelleher admitted earlier this month that Mamardashvili's impending arrival had intensified his desire to leave the club in search of more game time.
