Liverpool vs Manchester City - LIVE!

Two Premier League title rivals played out a thrilling 2-2 draw at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

Sadio Mane gave resurgent Liverpool the lead just shy of the hour mark after a hugely disappointing first half from the hosts.

However, man of the match Phil Foden rifled in to restore parity just 10 minutes later, with Mo Salah then scoring for the seventh game in a row with a fantastic individual effort.

A furious Pep Guardiola felt James Milner should have been shown a second yellow card shortly before that second Liverpool goal.

Joel Matip then inadvertently deflected in Kevin De Bruyne’s strike as the goals flew in during a pulsating second period on Merseyside.

There was also a hugely crucial block from Rodri to deny Fabinho as both sides pushed for a late winner.

The result leaves still unbeaten Liverpool second in the table and City third, with Chelsea a point clear at the summit heading into the October international break.

“If Leo Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo score that goal then the world says it's world class,” said Klopp.

I was most happy in my career about the half-time whistle. It was never planned that we played like this and we needed half-time and we used half-time and played a really good second half.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has received praise this week for his comments on Covid-19 vaccinations, expressing frustration with the reluctance of some Premier League players to get jabbed.

"I got the vaccination because I was concerned about myself but even more so for everyone else around me," Klopp said.

He added: "Where did I get the knowledge from that I think it makes sense to get the vaccination? I called doctors who I've known for years.

"Most specialists tell us the vaccination is the solution for the situation in this moment."
