Liverpool vs Napoli
Champions League 2018-19
Venue: Anfield
Kick-off: 8pm, December 11

Liverpool go into the final match of the group stages knowing that their fate is entirely in their own hands.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will secure their place in the knock-out stages of the Champions League by winning either 1-0 or by two-clear goals.

Any other result, even if Liverpool win, would see Napoli progress due to their superior head-to-head record in the group.

Team News

Dejan Lovren is a doubt for the match Anfield with the Croatian suffering from concussion.

His potential absence creates something of a defensive headache for Klopp, who is already without Joe Gomez, who is sidelined with a broken ankle.

Elsewhere, Nathanial Clyne (knock), Dominic Solanke (groin strain) and Alex Oxlade-Chamblerain (ACL) are definitely out.

Sadio Mane, who returned from a foot injury to come off the bench against Bournemouth, is expected to return to the starting XI.

Head to Head

Liverpool and Napoli have meet on four previous occasions.

Their last meeting, Napoli’s 1-0 win in Italy back in October, was the Italian’s first victory over Liverpool.

The Reds defeated Napoli 5-0 in an International Champions Cup match last summer, and 3-1 in the Europa League back in 2010
