What is the team news?
Both Jurgen Klopp and Chris Wilder will be without some of their biggest names for this weekend's encounter.
Klopp has question marks over six players for the visit of United. Virgil Van Dijk is a definite non-starter after picking up an ACL injury against Everton. Joel Matip faces a fitness battle to face Sheffield United after missing the Champions League clash against Ajax.
Thiago Alcântara has not been able to train this week after picking up a knock in the Merseyside derby. Goalkeeper Alisson Becker has returned to training from a shoulder injury, but Saturday's match could come too soon for him. Naby Keita could return after missing the Ajax match, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remains on the sidelines.
Sheffield United, meanwhile, will be without Jack O'Connell. The defender is out for most of the season following knee surgery. Striker Lys Mousset still has his foot in a cast after suffering injury in pre-season. Midfielder John Fleck is still out with a back injury. Finally, Max Lowe is likely to miss out after suffering concussion following a collision with Fulham's Ruben Loftus-Cheek on Sunday. Protocol surrounding head injuries requires between seven and 10 days' rest before playing again.
What have we said about the clubs?
It is impossible to replace the irreplaceable, but Liverpool have surely found the solution for now to the loss of Virgil van Dijk, with Fabinho producing an outstanding performance in the centre of defence as they began their Champions League campaign with a precious away victory.

The only two people who were not constantly going on about it were those involved, although Neill apologised two days after the incident.
