Liverpool’s Church Street Christmas tree lights will be switched on tomorrow. The annual event sees a 50ft tree, draped in lights, erected.

Last year, the now-Lord Mayor of Liverpool, councillor Richard Kemp, switched on the lights surrounded by Liverpool's Rock Choir singing carols. He was joined by The Rector of Liverpool, Crispin Pailing, who officially blessed the nativity at the base of the tree.

People clapped and cheered as the tree's 14,000 LED lights were switched on and festivities continued. Church Street's Christmas tree will be switched on tomorrow at 4.30pm with Liverpool's Lord Mayor returning to carry out proceedings.
