Liverpool returning to winning ways in style with a convincing win over AC Milan in the Champions League. The Reds picked up a 3-1 victory at the iconic San Siro to begin their campaign in the revamped competition with all three points in Italy.

Ex-Chelsea star Christian Pulisic opened the scoring for Milan as Liverpool trailed within three minutes. However, the Reds responded with goals from Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk - before Dominik Szoboszlai then netted Liverpool's third of the evening in the second half.

Arne Slot's side are not back in Champions League action until later this month when they welcome Bologna to Anfield. Between now and then, the Reds face a busy fixture list in the build-up to October's international break.

Liverpool return to Premier League action this weekend when they face Bournemouth at Anfield. Slot and his new team will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways after the disappointment of the defeat to Nottingham Forest last week, which came as quite the shock in domestic circles.
