Liverpool will now have to wait almost two weeks before they return to Premier League action. The Reds go into the hiatus in perfect style with victory over Manchester United

Arne Slot's side recorded a 3-0 win at Old Trafford to maintain their 100 per cent start to the campaign. Trent Alexander-Arnold had a goal ruled out for offside, before Luis Diaz scored a brace and Mohamed Salah added his name to the score sheet to secure the three points for Liverpool.

The result leaves Liverpool in second place in the Premier League table after their first three fixtures of the season. The Reds will now have a two-week break while several members of their squad link up with their respective national teams over the September international break.

Liverpool will return to top-flight action on September 14 when they host Nottingham Forest at Anfield. That will kick start a busy fixture schedule for the Reds which will also involve matches in the Champions League and Carabao Cup later this month.
