Livingstone: 7/7 Failed To Divide London

London has marked seven years since terror attacks left 52 people dead just a day after the city was told it would host the 2012 Olympics.

Four suicide bombers carried out a series of bombings on the capital's transport system which left more than 700 people injured.

Ken Livingstone was mayor of London at the time and has told Sky News the attacks failed to divide the city and create a legacy of recruits.

"I think it sent an incredibly powerful message about the sort of city we are and why we should be proud to be Londoners.

"The mere fact that we didn't have the divisions they wanted, broadcast the message that this is an amazingly safe city."

Mr Livingstone added that London is now a secure city and that the London Games will be a showcase for the capital.
