In-form striker Lawrence Shankland says he's relaxed about what the future may hold after bringing the curtain down on another stunning season with Hearts.

The 28-year-old hitman bagged his 31st goal in all competitions on Sunday in the thrilling 3-3 final-day draw with Rangers at Tynecastle as he signed off ahead of next month's Euros with a crucial strike.

His form, which has seen the Scotland international hit an impressive 59 goals in two seasons for the Tam Tarts has seen him linked with a host of clubs south of the border, including Hull City, who desperately need attacking players for the new Championship campaign.

Shankland was the subject of strong interest in January but Hearts held firm amid reports the Edinburgh club were holding out for £5m, but with the striker out of contract next summer, there could be a temptation to cash in rather than risk losing him for nothing in twelve months' time.

“I’ve got a year on my contract. So that’s as far as it goes in terms of meetings," he told BBC Scotland. “I’m a Hearts player for another year. Until that changes, then we’ll see but I think everybody’s in the same position.

“We’ll see what the summer brings. If it brings nothing and I’m a Hearts player I’ll be delighted to be here on the contract that I’m on. If something comes up and there needs to be conversations had, then we’ll see. As I said, I’ve been pretty open about it, the club have been open about it, and it is just a case of seeing what happens here.

“But as I said it’s been a great campaign, I’m delighted with the work I’ve done this season and I’m going to enjoy a wee break just before the Euros.”
