Llandudno hotel will be 'iconic' as closure due in 2025 for complete revamp
A North Wales hotel will be "iconic" once a major revamp is carried out after it was bought by UK chain. JW Lees has snapped up The Craigside Hotel on Llandudno's Little Orme from Whitbread.
The site is in need of a spruce up and a JW Lees spokesman says it will get a "full Inns treatment". The company already owns the Links Hotel in the same town and The Groes Inn in the Conwy Valley.
There will initially be a "fairly basic set-up" after a brief closure before a longer shutdown next year for a full makeover.

JW Lees marketing executive Tim McGaw said this week: "Excited for my upcoming staycation on the dummy run of our new Llandudno acquisition The Craigside Inn. This one is going to be iconic.
"It sits right beside the Little Orme with raised views across Llandudno and the Great Orme. You can literally cross the road and walk up to the summit of the Little Orme and enjoy a breathtaking view. More adventurous souls will also enjoy the secluded walks down to the small beach on the far side of the Little Orme.
"Starting 2025 this site will get the full Inns treatment. For now it's going to be a fairly basic setup so stay tuned for premium style Llandudno stays in 2025."
Speaking last month, William Lees-Jones, Managing Director of JW Lees, said: "We are delighted to be acquiring The Craigside Inn from Whitbread plc and it will take our inns and hotels business up to 366 bedrooms under company management. We will continue to run the hotel for the foreseeable future and have exciting plans to refurbish and reposition it early in the New Year."
