Lloyds Bank customer alarmed at 'errors' on online form
A Lloyds Bank client aired concerns over if an online bank form was real due to some basic errors. Having noticed the issues, they approached the bank for clarity over X, questioning: "I'm just about to change my direct debit details for my mortgage, is this a legitimate page with Lloyds?
"I'm only asking as the phone number box only allows 10 digits maximum and there is a spelling mistake at the bottom." The customer sent over a screengrab showing a 'contact number' field restricted to 10 digits and a confirmation button for a statement with apparent grammatical mistakes.
The faulty prompt read: "I confirm that i named on the mortgage and give you permission to change the Direct Debit date as instructed in this form." Lloyds initially enquired whether the customer was logged into their website, providing a secure login link.
The saver confirmed they were and said they would fill in the form despite the mistakes. Lloyds expressed regret over the blunders: "We do apologise for the errors, and will ensure this is fed back."
In a separate incident, another individual reached out to the bank in a moment of crisis, as they had lost access to their funds whilst overseas. They had tried to get help using the online chat feature but had not had a response for several hours, so they turned to X for assistance.
The bank reassured the customer that the online messaging team would have access to their account details and so would be able to provide help. The customer was informed that they could contact the bank's helpline at 0345 300 0000 between 8am and 6pm for assistance with the issue.
Given the lengthy wait for a response, Lloyds advised the customer to type the word 'agent' into the messaging service to ensure a prompt reply, stating: "Please send the word 'agent' to the messaging service, this should ensure you're in a queue."
Savers looking to switch may also want to note that Lloyds is currently offering a £200 incentive for customers who move over to them. You can claim the cash by opening a Club Lloyds, Club Lloyds Silver, or Club Lloyds Platinum account using the Current Account Switch Service.
