Logan Moy's pre-season attitude must be collective as Hull FC brace for John Cartwright era
Hull FC are in for a gruelling pre-season programme this autumn. The Black and Whites first-team squad will be put through their paces under their new head coach, John Cartwright, come November, who will work in tandem with the club's performance staff, of which new additions are still to be confirmed.
However, while there is a lot of hard work and a long road ahead, Logan Moy's stance is a simple one: bring it on. The teenage full-back, who was rewarded with a new three-year deal earlier this season, has been one of Hull's shining lights this term, despite a tough campaign that has brought just four wins all year.
Debuting in Super League back in April, Moy has brought plenty of energy to the table, and it's that energy now that is needed as Hull look to complete their final two games of 2024, regroup, rest, and go again.

"I love that it's going to be a good challenge for us all," Moy told Hull Live. "We need that. It's only going to help us. It'll be a positive for us to look forward to, especially with this season not going the way that we wanted it to.
"We want to end this season high in our last couple of games, so that's our focus at the minute, but when it does come round to pre-season, we want to put our best foot forward and hope next season goes a little bit better than this one. We know how important it is."
With nine new signings joining Cartwright, and with Andy Last returning to the club alongside a new head physio and the like, change is coming, with Richie Myler still looking at ways to improve the squad. Moy, meanwhile, is looking forward to that change, with John Asiata, for one, hoped to transform the way Hull play and also have a big leadership role off the field alongside players like Jordan Rapana, Zak Hardaker and co.
"I've seen the way John plays and what he brings to Leigh at the moment," Moy continued. "He's killed it there, so I can only imagine that he'll do the same for us. It will help us and the lads have spoken about it, what's coming in, and what we expect them to be.
"I can't wait; some of the signings we've made, they can only help me. There are a lot of older signings, so they've got that experience. Just the way they will be around training, the professionalism, and everything like that, it's only going to help me in a positive way."
In the meantime, Moy is determined to add some size to go with his electric ability on the ball, with the 19-year-old showing his attacking intent in his 14 appearances so far this year, with the goals to go again next term.
"Hopefully, I'll put some weight on my body," Moy explained. "I feel like I've coped with it fine, playing this year, but it's always going to help me, putting some weight on and building some muscle. I want to pick everyone's brains, signing wise as well.
"I'd love to play as many games as I can again next year, but if I do get brought down again to play reserves or go out on loan, then I'll be happy to do my best to work my way back into the squad. A lot of my mates who play at the club have done that and enjoyed it. It still gives you that physicality playing against men. I'm willing to do anything, as it's only going to help me in the future."
Moy added: "I'll see how pre-season goes, and then when it comes to the games, I'll see where John wants me and things like that. I'll just put my best foot forward and see if I can force my way into the team again. That's all I can do."
