UPDATE: Since our original story stated Logan would have a post-credits scene, James Mangold has confirmed that Logan will not in fact have a sting during or after the credits.

Responding to a fan on twitter asking about the report in Collider suggesting it was worth sticking about, Mangold confirmed that was not correct.

Collider is now speculating that there might be something additional before the movie starts, shown only on the theatrical release but to us that doesn't sound likely - we'd be surprised if James Mangold would premiere an incomplete version of the film at the Berlin Film festival - where the movie took its bow last week to rapturous responses.

Original story:

Early screenings of Logan were missing the post-credits scene we have come to expect from our superhero movies.

But you might want to stick around once the credits role anyway, as Collider is reporting that a final stinger will be included when Hugh Jackman's film arrives in cinemas.

To be honest, the tone of James Mangold's movie is such that it felt perfectly natural that it would finish without the extra scene, so we aren't sure what to expect and don't want to get into potential spoiler territory here.

Rumours of the scene first emerged after Fox submitted a new version of Logan that was three minutes than the previous version. That would make for an unusually long stinger.

As for the film itself, we absolutely loved the "emotional, brutal and stylish" final outing for Hugh Jackman's take on Wolverine.

The film is set in a near future in which mutants have been pushed to the brink of extinction.

Jackman reunites with Patrick Stewart's Professor X for the last time, with the pair hitting the road to protect a young mutant called Laura (Dafne Keen) from the sinister forces (and cyborgs) pursuing her.

Richard E Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Eriq La Salle and Elise Neal also feature in the movie.

Logan will be released on March 1 in the UK and March 3 in the US.
