Logan Slater tributes pour in after tragic search comes to an end
Tributes have paid to a 14-year-old boy from Brighouse after a frantic search to locate missing Logan Slater ended in tragedy.
Logan, a sport-loving Brighouse High student, has been reported missing by friends and family following his disappearance at 7.45am on Monday morning. His body was found nearby on land at Beechwood Park just 48 hours later.
The teen's absence had set off alarm bells as there was no trace of the student who was described as those who knew him as a vibrant and well-loved young boy.
His family reached out to the local authorities who began an extensive search to locate the missing teenager. The community came together in a show of solidarity, offering help by sharing posts across social media and distributing flyers with his picture on.

However, the hopes of bringing him home were dashed as his body was discovered on Wednesday. In a post, his devastated mum Amanda Slater thanked people for helping during the search, however, said that her son "had been found, sadly not the way we had hoped". She added: "Please can we ask for privacy as a family whilst we try to navigate and process."
Richard Horsfield, headteacher at Brighouse High, said the teenager was a valued member of the school community who had a wide circle of friends. He said: "It was a particular pleasure to see his love and enthusiasm for PE, especially within rugby, grow in the years he spent with us.
"We will continue to think of his family and all of his friends at this very sad time and will do all we can as a close knit school to support them. We are grateful for the time we spent with him and deeply saddened that the time came to such an abrupt end."
Since his death, tributes have flooded social media to 14 year old Logan. Pat Greenwood wrote: "I have no words this is so sad. RIP Logan. My thoughts are with the family."
