One of London's most famous beauty spots is to close for a second day this weekend as Storm Bert continues to cause disruption. Kew Gardens was forced to shut its doors to the public yesterday and it repeated its closure announcement this morning, explaining that 'severe weather ' meant the centre would be closed. WInter Wonderland is also closed - see here.

The Christmas event Christmas at Kew is also cancelled this evening - a popular light trail with dazzling installations. Wakehurst Gardens in Sussex, part of the same parent company, is also closed.

All Royal Parks are also closed today due to the severe wind gusts. There will be a delayed opening on Monday for all parks following a safety inspection. This includes all cafes, kiosks, park roads & cycleways.

It comes as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning of wind for London and south east England as Storm Bert continues to cause disruption, with likely traffic disruption and power cuts. Follow our live blog here.

The warning states that delays are likely on the capital's road, rail, air and ferry transport. This morning, London is already experiencing some disruption on the London Underground - follow our live blog here.

Kew Gardens stated: "Unfortunately, Kew Gardens will also be closed today, Sunday 24 November, due to severe weather. Christmas at Kew is also cancelled this evening. Ticketing providers will be in touch with more information. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused."

The cancellation of tonight's Christmas event is a double whammy for the popular tourist attraction, which - like most London landmarks - generates significant revenue from its festive fayres. Kew Garden's magical Christmas trail is made up of three kilometres of illuminations, and is open to the public until Sunday, January 5. Tickets start from £21.50 for adults and £16 for children - those under four go free. You can book tickets here, but be aware that some slots are already sold out.

With over 20 installations featured, visitors can stroll through tunnels, admire the lakeside, and marvel at trees decked out in twinkling lights. There's also a range of vendors on site offering festive treat. From hot food and sweet delicacies to spiced winter warmers, hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows.
