Diwali is one of the most exciting festivals of the year, when towns and cities are gloriously lit up in a Hindu celebration of 'light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance'. This year, London partygoers can honour Diwali in Bollywood style while sailing along the Thames, as Bollywood Events and Productions hosts the Diwali Bollywood Luxury Boat Party on The Dixie Queen, which boasts four outdoor decks, two large indoor floors and two bars - which can accommodate up to 600 people.

Revellers will enjoy a four-hour cruise filled with Diwali decorations from 7.30pm until midnight on Friday, November 1, departing from Tower Millennium Pier, close to Tower Hill Tube station. On board, they will treated to a four-course Indian dinner included in the ticket price, with Bollywood, Punjabi pop and Hindi music courtesy of DJs Kapil and Parth.

Dhol players will get the party started with their signature drumming, while the main stage features performances from Bollywood singer Sonia Chohan, traditional Indian Kathak dancer Anashmita Saha and belly dancer Mazz.

A live tarot card reader will predict what fate has in store, and 360 photobooths will provide the perfect setting for Instagram. Jewellery and henna stalls will be on board, along with a free cloakroom, Diwali games and activities.

Attendees are asked to embrace the spirit of Diwali by wearing their "most elegant and colourful" traditional attire and they can also participate in a traditional Diwali puja ceremony on board.

The four-hour cruise will take in spectacular views of London's waterfront and revellers can watch Tower Bridge open twice as the barge makes its way back and forth along the river.

Tickets are still available, starting at £54.88 for adults and £33.22 for children for early bird tickets, and groups of five can book for £239.06. VIP tickets are priced at £71.13 and include a backstage pass, banquet-style seating on the main stage, and table food service with a front view of the Thames, with sliding doors on to the outer deck.
