Prime Minister Boris Johnson, as well as Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer and SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon, have been seen visiting polling stations all over the country to cast votes today.

It comes as every adult in the UK has the opportunity to vote in at least one election.

It is the biggest set of votes—and the greatest test of the electorate—since the 2019 General Election.

Elections for the Scottish Parliament, the Welsh Senedd, and 143 councils and 13 mayors in England, including London, are happening. A Westminster by-election is also taking place in Hartlepool.

Up to 48 million people are eligible to vote across Britain. Polling stations stay open until 10pm. The results of the London mayoral election are expected at the earliest on Saturday night, and possibly into Sunday.

Already, mayoral candidates and plenty of dogs have been pictured visiting their nearest polling stations to vote.
