A London PR agency has set up a memorial bursary in tribute to a former executive who took her life aged 28.

Suzy Brown, of Chiswick, was found dead below cliffs a day after being signed off work with stress, an inquest heard.

Her partner told the coroner he would never understand why she would commit suicide. Scott Poulton said: “It was a busy time at work and she was finding it hard but she seemed upbeat.” Her family reported her missing after she failed to meet her sisters for dinner last October. The inquest in Eastbourne, East Sussex, heard she had driven to Beachy Head, where her body was discovered.

Mr Poulter found a suicide note torn up in a bin in their flat. Coroner Alan Craze concluded she had taken her life. Mason Williams, the award-winning PR agency based in Bermondsey, has set up a bursary in her name. Rita Rowe, managing director, said: “Suzy was a successful, beautiful and popular young woman, and an inspiration to her colleagues. The bursary will help one young entrant every year start their career.”

After leaving Mason Williams, Miss Brown joined Holborn agency Grayling. Chief executive Sarah Scholefield said an annual award to recognise outstanding achievement was being set up in Ms Brown's name: “Suzy was a hugely valued and popular colleague, and had been identified as a rising star in our business. She is greatly missed by us all."
