People across England took part in a national ‘Clap for Our Carers’ event on Thursday, March 26, to honor National Health Service (NHS) workers tending to patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event, which was organized by Annemarie Plas as the country remained in lockdown, encouraged people to open their doors and windows to applaud NHS staff.
The death toll from the novel coronavirus reached 578 in the UK on Thursday, the government said.
