The London restaurants with the best curry dishes according to the experts
Several London restaurants have won big at the Asian Curry Awards this year. Known as the 'Curry Oscars' by insiders, the Asian Curry Awards 2024 were announced on November 17 at the Grosvenor House in Mayfair, and hosted by the BBC's Samantha Simmonds.
The award winners were chose from all over the UK by a panel of judges from the Asian Catering Federation, after a list of finalists was created through a public vote. The awards covered fine dining, casual dining, street food, and the complete range of Asian and Oriental cuisines.
Several London restaurants received awards, including for the Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year, and the top Chinese Restaurant in the UK. Below is a list of all the London restaurants who won in the 2024 Asian Curry Awards.

Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year - Kahani
Located in Sloane Square, Kahani is the home of Michelin-starred chef Peter Joseph. British ingredients are combined with spices and Indian cooking techniques to create "the very best in Indian food", the restaurant promises.
Best Chinese Restaurant - Hakkasan
Hakkasan has been named the best Chinese restaurant in the UK for 2024. With two restaurants in London, the Mayfair and Hanway Place branches promises modern Cantonese cuisine along with world-class mixology, set in a dramatic environment.
Asian Restaurant of the Year - City of London - Mint Leaf Lounge
Mint Leaf Lounge in Bank was named the Asian Restaurant of the Year in the City of London. The restaurant aims to "bring authentic South Asian flavours and aromas to the Bank area" and is a cocktail bar and fine-dining Indian restaurant.
Asian Restaurant of the Year - London - Colonel Saab
The Asian Restaurant of the Year for London was named as Colonel Saab in High Holborn, one of two sites the restaurant works from. Another fine dining restaurant, Colonel Saab is inspired by the travel stories of the founder, Roop's father and his wife across the Indian subcontinent.
The restaurants pair an ambiance of old-style jazz music and beautiful artwork alongside a modern interpretation of Indian flavours.
Asian Restaurant of the Year - London Suburbs
Three restaurants have been named winners of the London Suburbs category of the Asian Restaurant of the Year.
iNaga in Bromley offers contemporary Bangladeshi dining, with a relaxed atmosphere for diners. Namaste Kitchen in Camden has a specialist grill menu and innovative cocktails, and The Bombay in Orpington is a great place to go whether for a family meal or catching up with friends.
Further awards were also given for the Nepalese Restaurant of the Year London, which went to Panas Gurkha and the Filipino Restaurant of the Year London, to Kasa & Kin. Three restaurants were also awarded the Newcomer of the Year award for different parts of London - Panas Falcon, Madhu's Brasserie, and Colonel Saab.
Finally, the Takeaway of the Year for the London Suburbs went to Bengal Bliss in Coulsdon.
