The Met Office is forecasting a drastic drop in temperatures over the next few days. Now that we're halfway through November, it's only going to get colder as we head towards the Christmas period.

Although today (Saturday, November 16), tomorrow (Sunday, November 17, and Monday, November 18, promise to be rather mild, with temperatures hovering around 11C, next week will be much colder. Despite sunny intervals, temperatures will drop to 6C, with the 'feels like' temperatures even lower.

On Tuesday, November 19, temperatures will average 6C throughout the day before falling to 3C at 9pm, with a 'feels like' temperature of -1C. On Wednesday, November 20, it'll be slightly colder during the day with a 'feels like' temperature of -2C at 9am, but it will not fall below 0C thereafter.

'Some' rain and snow forecast by Met Office

Thursday, November 21, and Friday, November 22, look set to be fairly similar.

A spokesperson for the UK's national forecaster said: "Cold or very cold conditions are likely to affect most if not all parts of the UK early in this period, with wintry showers affecting in particular northern parts and exposed coastal districts.

"Overnight frost will likely be widespread and occasionally strong winds will result in significant wind chill. However, there may be some more organised areas of rain and snow, accompanied by strong winds, which run across some parts.

"This could lead to some disruptive weather at times. Briefly milder conditions may accompany these in the south, and there is a hint that it may become less cold late in the period, but still likely remain mostly unsettled with further spells of rain and snow."
