London has UK's 'prettiest homes' - here's 5 streets where you'll find some of its most beautiful houses

When you’re trudging through the streets of London on your morning commute, your first thought might not be of how beautiful your surroundings are. So you may be surprised to hear that London is actually home to the UK’s most beautiful houses.

Research using ‘pinned’ photos and boards on Pinterest revealed that London has the most beautiful houses in the UK. The data, which was released by insurance experts Alan Boswell, rated London with an ‘aesthetic score’ of nine-point-six-three out of ten.

Other UK cities which were in the running to be considered ‘most beautiful' are Bristol, in second place, Birmingham, in third place, Manchester and Edinburgh in joint fourth place and Sheffield, in fifth place.

So in honour of London’s prestigious title, here at MyLondon we’ve done a round up of some of the capitals prettiest streets. From hanging wisteria, to colourful terraced houses, the capital has some really beautiful homes.

Conduit Mews, W2

Located just around the corner from Paddington Station, Conduit Mews is popular for its colourful terraced houses. Homes on the street regularly go for over £1m, with people regularly posting to Instagram to show off this beautiful street.

One user posted: “Conduit Mews is a lively and colourful mews street nestled in the heart of London's Paddington neighbourhood. Tucked away amidst the bustling streets, it seamlessly blends classic mews architecture with modern urban living. The houses along Conduit Mews beautifully combine traditional and contemporary elements, creating a unique and charming atmosphere."

Chalcot Crescent, NW1

A beautiful crescent of terraced houses, Chalcot Crescent is also teaming with pastel colours. Situated in Primrose Hill, there’s lots to do nearby, such as visiting the hilltop to check out the beautiful panoramic views of the area, or walking the Regent's Canal towpath.

The nearest tube stations to Chalcot Crescent are Chalk Farm, which is just a six minute walk away, and Swiss Cottage, a 22 minute walk away.

Kendrick Mews & Reece Mews, SW7

These two beautiful streets are adjoining, featuring lovely brick terraced houses. Kendrick Mews contains just seven properties for residential and commercial purposes, so you might be waiting a while for a spot to come up.

It is also home to some famous artwork - a ski-inspired piece of graffiti painted onto the side of one of its terraced houses. The nearest station to the Mews is South Kensington, just a three-minute walk away.

Columbia Road, E2

Columbia Road Flower market is open on Sunday  till 2pm. Along with many boutique shops and cafe's this street is a prime example of the vibrant East End atmosphere .

One of East London’s prettiest streets, most of Columbia Road is now taken up by shops and restaurants. Popular for its flower market, the street fills with people on Sunday mornings.

The road is full of colourful shop fronts and just round the corner from Hoxton Overground station, or it’s around a 20 minute walk to Bethnal Green Underground Station.

Kynance Mews, SW7

With beautiful purple hysteria hanging from the houses in spring, Kynance Mews is one of the prettiest streets on this list. The nearest tube station to the Mews is Glouster Road, just a five-minute walk away.

Situated in South Kensington, this Mews even has its own Instagram page, with one Instagram user captioning their photo: “Kynance Mews is the place to go for a lovely Autumn photo. It's a beautiful gateway to a quaint little cobbled street covered with gorgeous red leaves, it really is a must see.”
