After a blustery weekend Londoners are facing yet more miserable weather as forecasters predict a week of grey skies and drizzle in the capital.

Met Office forecaster Ollie Claydon told the Standard the city could expect mostly wet and cloudy weather from Tuesday morning.

He said: “Following a cold front pushing through the South East today there will be a dry start to Tuesday.

“But by the time we move into the afternoon the clouds will start building up and there will be some showers around.”

Mr Claydon said there was more rain predicted on Wednesday and Thursday but added it would be dryer on Friday afternoon – with clear skies bringing chance of freezing temperatures overnight.

He said: “There will be highs of about 11 or 12C in St James' Park and lows of 4C overnight throughout the week.

“On Friday night that could drop to below freezing as cold air mass comes in.”
